About Famous Monsters Halloween Convention™
The Famous Monsters Halloween Convention™ is a celebratory event produced by Cosmic-Con® and hosted by the San Jose Convention Center, Oct 27-29, 2017. The guest roster is a massive one, including stars from AMERICAN GODS, DAWN OF THE DEAD, GAME OF THRONES, IT (1990), STAR TREK, HELLRAISER, FRIGHT NIGHT, ROAD WARRIOR, CREATURE FROM THE BLACK LAGOON, and many more. “Halloween has become the holiday when people just kick back and have fun,” says Cosmic-Con Producer and Famous Monsters Publisher Philip Kim. “There’s none of the stress of other traditional holidays; it’s just one big masquerade ball, and that’s exactly the vibe that Famous Monsters is going for in San Jose.”
And this masquerade comes with its own makeup masters: 2017 marks 100 years that the House of Westmore has dominated the Hollywood effects makeup industry, and Michael Westmore (STAR TREK, RAGING BULL) will join the San Jose show for a celebration that includes finalists from SyFy’s hit show FACE OFF. Famous Monsters has also brought VR gaming and haunted houses into the mix: with the help of locals like Virtual World Arcade, ScareCo, and Napa Ghost Tours, the convention will boast horror game demos, a “Hall of the Dead” zombie run, and a ghostly artifacts display, among other attractions.
