Demore Barnes began his career in comedy on Canadian television with SQUAWK BOX and STREET CENTS. Following success on both shows, he decided to explore more serious roles and soon garnered critical acclaim — including a Gemini nomination and a BFV and Black Film Award — for his portrayal of Benjamin Hardaway on THE ASSOCIATES.
Barnes moved from his home in Canada to Los Angeles in 2003, and got a big break Stateside with his role in THE UNIT in 2006. Since then he has been all over television on shows like OPEN HEART, HEMLOCK GROVE, THE FLASH, HANNIBAL, and most recently Starz’ AMERICAN GODS, where he portrays Mr. Ibis — a modernization of Thoth, the Ancient Egyptian god of truth, writing, and crossing to the afterlife.
Barnes will be appearing at the Famous Monsters Halloween Convention alongside fellow AMERICAN GODS actors Orlando Jones and Ricky Whittle.
