DAWN OF THE DEAD’s “final girl” Gaylen Ross had a brief but distinguished four-year career as an actress, beginning with George A. Romero’s DAWN OF THE DEAD in the role of Francine and ending with a part in the same director’s classic anthology CREEPSHOW (1982).

These days, however, having chosen to stop acting because it was “difficult” and she “wasn’t having a good time”, Ross’s achievements are best measured behind the camera as the director and producer of award-winning documentaries. Ross is the director and producer of DEALERS AMONG DEALERS (1995), TO RUSSIA FOR LOVE (1999), KILLING KASZTNER (2008), and CARIS’ PEACE (2011), among others. Her films have been featured in festivals across the world, including many Jewish film festivals, and have aired on the BBC, PBS, and A&E.
